HELLO HELLO

We are still here, alive and functioning!
Ned is doing good. He’s filthy as usual and needs a bath. Good news is that warm weather is here to stay so we can clean up and stay that way
(knock on wood.)

We have been in HEAVY edit mode since we got back.

There’s a lot of great footage coming your way.
A little taste should be coming very soon.

IN other news:
Gas prices are on the rise,
so is my blood pressure.

So firstly I’d like to apologize for the delay. We have literally not stopped moving this entire trip. We’ve either been filming, or driving and checking in to the hotel at 2a.m. every night. Good, because we’re making serious progress. Bad, cause I can only update quick ones on twitter and facebook. If you want the guts of what happened, that’s what happens here. Just wait till the footage comes out. It’s so radical that I have no words to describe it besides “Radical”.

Okay, so here’s what happened since we last spoke/read/”internet’ed”/ what ever you want to call it.

So on Day 4 we drove to the Bonnie and Clyde museum or as it is suppose to be called, the “Clyde and Bonnie” museum. The man who ran the museum was named Boots. I kid you not. A heroic name no doubt and one I will have to use to name something in the future, whether it be a pair of boots, books or kids. Boots is actually the son of one of the officers, named Ted, who was at the capture site of Clyde and Bonnie. When I called to make sure that it was okay if I filmed the museum and him, Boots’ reply was “Darling, I am apart of the museum,” so I knew we had struck gold. He gave us a great tour, showed us some old, but rad photos, and gave us several laughs. I’ll definitely be keeping in touch with him. May 20th and 21st they hold a big festival in that town for Clyde and Bonnie which from what I’m told, is definitely worth checking out. For those who don’t know too much about Clyde and Bonnie, read around, but don’t believe all of the stories. Boots informed us that there is a lot of “bolony” flying around and that the truth isn’t always presented. The big thing he stressed to us is that there was no conspiracy that Clyde and Bonnie were ratted out and because Boots was so official, I’m definitely going with what he says. Once you see him on film, you’ll know what I mean. I’ve got no pics of him, only video so keep posted for Boots.

After that, we grabbed some catfish at a Louisiana gas station- risky idea but turned out to be awesome – and rolled on, into Baton Rouge where we crashed with my good knowledgeable friend Caitie McCabe. She is living down in Baton Rouge currently working in Americore, and basically her life goal is to save the children of the world. I have 0% doubt in my mind that she wont do it. For those of you who follow the blog, she’s the good friend who made the sock puppets. You can check out that video HERE.

Just some shots from the drive:

The next day we visited Caitie at the middle school she works at in Baton Rouge. The teens she works with were fantastic and their personalities were some I’ll never forget. I wish we could of stayed longer because they were teaching me some seriously awesome dance moves as well as some awesome lingo.
For those of you guys reading this- You guys ruled. I hope to see you guys again and show you my dance moves. I’ve been practicing.

Just a photo of some cup Caitie had:

Afterwards we rolled into New Orleans. Beads were still hanging from the trees from Mardi Gras which was in the beginning of March. “Partying always” is how New Orleans rolls. Memorable moments boil down to: A terrifying crater hidden by a puddle on a side street; some really salty but DE-lish crawfish and other food to boot ( I got the stuffed shrimp); and a lot of “adult” themed activities. All in all, I wish we had more time in New Orleans too which means, we WILL meet again NOLA.

The Next day was a tremendous driving day. 12 hours is brutal when you’ve hardly been sleeping. On the upside we stopped at a gas station which turned out to be a huge win. Smokehouse/ gas station in Alabama.

And we saw a truck of Chickens that smelt……bad.

Once we got to the hotel we all crashed right away.

This morning we woke up and pulled into the Charlotte Motor Speedway which is currently holding its spring Auto Fair. As soon as we walked in we found one “beauty with muscle” (also as figured) with a great personality named Paige. Paige, if you’re reading this, we’ll definitely be seeing you again. Great to meet you and I’m super excited (also, if your name is spelt differently, I apologize)!

After Paige, we unfortunately struggled to find any other ladies, but this is exactly why I’m doing this project. I know we’re out there, the tough part is just finding them/us. If it was easy, someone would of done it already.

We grabbed some dinner at Cook Out in NC which was great. My taste for BBQ has gone through the roof.

So now we are currently in a hotel in Durham, NC and tomorrow morning we’re on our way to Philly to drop off one of our cameramen. The trip was NUTS- so much more than anything I could of anticipated, imagined, dreamed of, or hoped for. Thank you so much to everyone involved and get ready because the next trip is now DEFINITELY in the works. West Coast- get ready.

All our Love,

Katie P & Ned Nova :)
